Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 in Italy. He was a painter, sculptor, architect and inventor remembered as one of the most famous men of the Renaissance. The fresco of the Last Supper in the monastery of the Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, and the Mona Lisa in the Louvre Museum in Paris, are two of his most famous works. He left behind several notebooks that include sketches of his inventions. Many of his designs later influenced future inventions: parachutes, helicopters, diving equipment, airplanes, army tanks and much more. He had a scientific mind and his inventions were centuries before their time. He studied human anatomy and his illustrations are astoundingly accurate. He was truly a “Renaissance man”. Da Vinci died at the age of 67 on May 2, 1519. Today we celebrate his birthday and his contributions to art, science and technology.

Hippity Hoppity Easter is Here!
Today, Whitepine Studios participated in the Saline Recreation Center’s Easter celebration. After children enjoyed searching for Easter eggs in the woods, they visited the many businesses set up along the Hippity Hop Bunny Trail. They were treated to Easter chocolates, coloring pages and trinkets. The weather was windy and cold but the turnout was awesome. Visit our Facebook Page and download a free Easter coloring page.
Mobile Studio Lift-Off!
On Sunday, March 20th Whitepine’s Mobile Studio was officially launched. Six young birthday party revelers were excited to complete a colorful birch tree landscape on a keepsake canvas. They even marveled at the way we used old gift cards to highlight the trees! Parents were thrilled as we brought along all the supplies and took the mess with us.
